ok...obviously the stupidity carries over to this forum. Here I thought it was just in game. Anyone know what the update actually fixed?

for all you geniuses out there a "rare server crash bug" wouldn't be fixed via the client.

Unless it was a client-side error that triggered the server crash, making it go into an infinite loop or create impossible events, or whatever the case may be.

http://guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36230

Surprised this got unstickied.

Edit: That is to say, I've played an MMORPG where people edited their files to do impossible events that the server wasn't made to handle. Instead of handling it, it just kicked everyone off the server and rebooted. I'm sure there're legitamate ways to cause the same thing.

To OP:
How the hell would you know? Maybe the client under certain conditions sends some information that causes the server to crash.

Besides, a nerf to farming spots wouldnt require a change to the client either.

Where the HELL is the GODDAM 15k TORMENTORS SET!

Christ you'd think they'd go ahead and finish off this ONE last piece of 15k armor that isn't updated but no, we're going to just...not update it...so people can buy it for 60k and look the same for a few more months. I mean hell I KNOW it's SUPPOSED to get updated, but why the hell can't they just get it out of the way to please PieXags! I mean hell it's the ONLY reason I still check their main website or log in game every few weeks.

...Pie's pissed. Not about this update, I don't mind little things like this. Maybe I just need to say RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO it and say to hell with waiting and just do other shit until the next chapter when something interesting comes out.

...rant over. C'mon gimme a break, I never rant. I've earned the right to rant.

any forced client side error can be fixed via the server by simply ignoring the action that the client is taking...atleast any halfway decent programming team could....not that I make any claims to Anet being anywhere near a halway decent programming team....

yeah, you have no record of drops in any given area pre and post patch, let alone statistically significant ones.. so only you look stupid here.. this is completely pointless to even notify anyone of this patch.. "server crash" not "server side issue causing crashes".. unless it is an outright lie on Anet's part, they patched the client because the "server crash" was caused by the client. I am going to assume that to avoid hacking Anet has a lot of things related to drops being calculated server side.. so if they want to nerf drops (which does seem to happen from time to time) it could be slipped in silently at any point. anyways.. please just drop it unless you have some proof..

edit: what the fck is a "forced client side error"? please explain mr competent programmer sir

How's that make you feel?

Now vent the frustration, and you'll figure out what the red engine bit is

Particularly, proceed to reply with words inappropriate for the general public.

Also, bear in mind, Preview Message button exists, so you don't actually have to post it, cheater.

Did it ever came to your mind that the client side update might just have been an update of your version number? A good company will keep their updates ordered and so does Arena.net.
When they udpate their server they update the servers version number. As a result the client is now outdated, even though nothing has been changed clientside. Thus, a micro patch is streamed that just raises the version number (notice how the update just updated one file?)

[QUOTE=PieXags]Where the HELL is the GODDAM 15k TORMENTORS SET![\QUOTE]

Mate while I feel you pain I'm going to say you really have to stop acting like a bitch.

All your posts I seen lately have been you complaining about some 15K armor set... you being to act like a whiner.

Give A.net time, I'm sure between PvP balancing, the new PvE areas, and the upcoming expansion they must be over stressed as it is.

People from A.net read this, and I really don't think their going to give you anything if you continue to demand it.

Back on topic... anything that fixes bugs or crash errors in this game is a good patch.

They don't need to roll out a new client version to update the drop tables server-side. Suggesting the rollout of a new client is for a nerf to drops is rediculous.

Which of course is highly inefficient and appauling programming practice, for a whole host of reasons. Of course, and half decent programming team could have told you that

And yet, I still continue to get rares simply by doing missions. Some nerf, Anet can't even seem to do that right.
